Restrictions on numbers

There are some restrictions on the maximum number of people, including staff, allowed in the Village Hall. It depends on the type of function and on which rooms are hired, as follows.

If the Main Hall alone is hired:
Sitting (e.g. theatre)                           176
Dining and dancing (e.g. buffet dance)    130
Banqueting                                         138

If the Lounge alone is hired:
Standing (e.g. social)                           100
Sitting (e.g. conference)                        36

If both the Main Hall and Lounge are hired:
Standing (e.g. disco)                            180
Dining and dancing (e.g. buffet dance)    150

Furniture
The following furniture is available:
30 folding tables 1.8m (72") by 0.76m (30")
25 stacking tables 0.6m (24") square
200 upright stacking chairs

This gives plenty of flexibility as to the type of function which can be catered for.

Suggested layouts
These are suggestions only. The sketches below are designed to show possible uses of the long folding tables (large rectangles), stacking tables (medium-sized squares) and chairs (small rectangles). The numbers in the boxes indicate the approximate number of people that can be catered for under each particular layout.
